We’re thrilled that Ceteris has been selected as a finalist for the ESG Refurbishment of the Year award at the esteemed Scottish Property Awards 2024. This recognition is a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation in the refurbishment of our property, Hilton House, in Alloa, Clackmannanshire.
The Scottish Property Awards is an independent program highlighting achievements in public and commercial property development. The ESG Refurbishment of the Year Award places a spotlight on companies dedicated to sustainable practices, social inclusion, and innovative solutions in the upgrade of existing buildings.
Commencing in 2022, the refurbishment of Hilton House was a pivotal part of a £350,000 project aimed at aligning with Ceteris’ ambitious carbon reduction goals—aiming to halve emissions by 2030 and achieve net zero by 2045. The comprehensive project included:
- Solar panel installation
- Replacing outdated storage heaters with energy-efficient counterparts
- Implementing LED lighting throughout the building
- Upgrading kitchen and bathroom facilities and improving thermal glazing performance
- Installing EV charge points in the car park
Beyond its environmental impact, Hilton House is also home to our tenant, Scottish Autism, and is fully accessible for individuals with additional support needs.
Our commitment to achieving Net Zero status by 2045 seamlessly aligns with the criteria for the ESG Refurbishment of the Year. This investment is not merely about reaching environmental targets but is a pivotal element of our broader vision—’Making Business Happen.’ In line with our new corporate strategy, Ceteris aspires to be ‘Being Good for Business and Good for the Planet.’ By actively integrating sustainability into our operations, we set an example for businesses, showcasing that profitability and environmental and social responsibility can coexist.
