Due to the fantastic team working for her they had great success with the business even during a global recession!  Maggie truly believed in investing in her team and recognises that this was crucial for the success of the business. American Dream In 2010, Maggie moved to the USA with her family and her husband who was managing a renewables project She spent 3 years in Arkansas and 1 year in Florida and took on a part-time role staging houses for sale. However, Maggie missed the Scottish seasons! She wanted snow, wind, rain, autumn leaves so they heading back to the homeland. New Challenges Arriving back in Scotland in 2014, Maggie set up a Property Investment Business. This business facilitated private sales away from the usual high-street and online agencies; she described it as a “a dating matching agency for property”. Then an opportunity arose to help a local Youth & Sports Trust to re-think their business structure and strategy and Maggie jumped at the chance to help as General Manager. She was initially meant to be in this role for 3 months but ended up being there for a year overseeing the introduction of a new operational plan. Economic Development Once this contract had finished and her work was done, a new opportunity came up that would take Maggie back to her economic development roots in her local area. As Enterprise Contracts Manager with STEP Scotland in Stirling; Maggie managed the Business Gateway contract, the business support team, developed partnerships and supported Stirlingshire businesses to implement growth plans. From her law degree, to interior design business, to property sales, to economic development, Maggie is in the best position to take on the role and challenge of Business Gateway Development Director at Ceteris. She said: “I hope to bring my experience to Clackmannanshire and help build on the good reputation that Ceteris has with the business community, by building on existing relationships with partners, working collaboratively to create new business support services that will support the Economic priorities of the local authority and impact positively on the business  community”.
