How to grow your business outside Scotland

Exporting products worldwide is a goal many enterprises have but successfully cracking the global market isn’t always easy.

To help local companies make headway overseas, a business breakfast forum has been organised by Business Gateway Forth Valley in conjunction with Scottish Development International (SDI).

Taking place on Tuesday May 23rd from 8.30 a.m. until 10.30 a.m. in Airth Castle, the event aims to provide business owners and entrepreneurs with an insight into how they too can crack markets out with Scotland.

On the day, guest speakers from highly innovative Scottish SMEs will share their experience of exporting to different markets, including Graham Coull, of VC2 Brands, based in Stirling. His company has successfully developed a range of innovate spirit and beer brands that are sold in all major supermarkets in the UK and throughout Europe and beyond.

Chris Copping, General Manager, of Lion Speciality Foods, will also be taking to the stage to share his wealth of experience. Chris is not only an independent business growth adviser for a wide range of clients, including a prospective salmon farming company and Scottish farmed venison group, he is the Sales & Marketing Director for leading Scottish and Norwegian international salmon farming companies and is Head of Purchasing for one of Scotland’s largest salmon smokers as well as Director of The Scottish Salmon Marketing Board.

The breakfast forum will also give delegates an opportunity to network with like-minded, globally focused businesses.

Alison Davidson, Business Gateway, said: “Thousands of SMEs throughout the region have successfully broken into new markets, many of them with our help, proving you don’t have to be a big business with a huge budget to export products and services. Moving your business onto the world stage is an exciting prospect for many, but it can also be daunting. That is why we have organised this seminar with SDI to highlight exporting doesn’t have to be just a dream, if you get the right support from Business Gateway and SDI you can reap the benefits of the global marketplace.”
