Elmbank Mill – Celebrating 21 years of office space

Do you remember 1998?

The Good Friday agreement was signed in April, Titanic became the first film to gross $1 billion dollars, All Saints, Boyzone &  Robbie Williams dominated the charts, France won the World Cup for the first time and The Royle Family launched on BBC2 to a delighted audience.

And right in the middle of the year Ceteris opened a new business centre in Menstrie…

Originally a woollen mill, Elmbank Mill was built when the population of Menstrie could be measured in the low hundreds and was ideally placed only a few yards from Menstrie Burn, which it originally shared with the now gone Forthvale Mill.

It was well known for the high quality of its woollen output and, in later years, surviving the downturn in local woollen manufacture become an office for the Central Region Water Board.

Ceteris purchased Elmbank Mill in the mid 90’s with a view to offering businesses in the Hillfoots villages a modern, tranquil local business location with excellent transport links to Stirling and the motorway network.

With its Georgian façade. windows on four sides and fabulous views of the Ochils. Ceteris knew they had a unique property and quickly got on with the task of refurbishing and renovating Embank Mill to the high standard that they are known for.

Calm Training were one of the first tenants and moved into Elmbank Mill in June 1998, Operations Director Helen Stevenson said “Menstrie is important to us, our office-based staff are local, the business was launched in Menstrie and it has always been based here. Ceteris offer us safety, security and have been understanding of our changing needs throughout each stage of our development. I know that if there is a leak in the roof in the morning, it will be fixed in the afternoon. It’s a peace of mind that allows us to focus on the business”

Angela Ogilvie, Operations Director at Ceteris adds, “The historical beauty and peacefulness of Elmbank Mill greatly complements the other modern town centre buildings and bustling business park locations we have across Clackmannanshire. I can’t believe it’s been 21 years already and look forward to Elmbank Mill continuing as a valued piece of our property portfolio for many years to come”

Ceteris have huge plans for Elmbank Mill in 2019 including a number of business sessions with Menstrie Primary School, fundraising events and community initiatives.
