Business Gateway helps companies to keep it in the family

Family businesses are the most common type of businesses in Scotland, providing an important source of employment and contributing massively to the wealth of the country.

In recognition of this, Business Gateway Forth Valley  is running a specialist free workshop in conjunction with the Forth Valley Chamber of Commerce and Federation of Small Businesses, that focuses on the unique issues family-run ventures face.

Increasing your family’s fortunes – an event for family businesses, will provide potential and existing owners with advice on how to make a family venture flourish. It will give an insight into how to succeed when working with relatives and a deeper understanding of the challenges that may occur.

Attendees will hear from Bill Andrew of Family Business Solutions who will cover issues such as structuring ownership, management and planning succession.

Also speaking is serial entrepreneur and multi-award winning business coach Suj Legha who will focus on the six steps he believes leads to growth and an increase in profitability.

Alison Davidson, Business Gateway Clackmannanshire said: “At Business Gateway we are committed to providing services that meet local business needs and we hope this specialist workshop will help family business owners in this region.

“Family businesses are amongst the most successful in the world and include Arnold Clark, IKEA and BMW. They are also the most popular form of private enterprise in Scotland; however they face very distinct issues. By offering support and advice we hope to arm local family businesses with information that will help them realise their full potential and thrive for generations.”

The seminar will run from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday, 21st November in The Brockville Suite, Falkirk Stadium.
