Clacks Business Week fundraising lunch for Scottish Autism

Fundraising lunch for Scottish Autism set to close Clacks Business Week in style

Autism is a lifelong developmental condition that affects the way a person communicates and interacts with others. Autism affects 1 in 100 people in Scotland and has a huge impact on individuals and their families.

Scottish Autism supports individuals throughout their whole life journey and helps them to lead full and enriched lives and become valuable members of their community. We provide a range of services for children and adults including education, day and vocational opportunities and practical living support as well as offering information and advice for individuals, families and professionals. Scottish Autism are currently fundraising to support their new service, Makers cafe and community hub, which is situated in Alloa.  Makers is a multi-purposed hub space delivering day and vocational opportunities for autistic people aged over 16 and individuals with learning disabilities.

The project houses a community cafe, shop and gallery and kitchen garden. The cafe offers a delicious range of food, and the shop and gallery showcase the work of many of the talented artists that Scottish Autism supports.

Makers will also host a rolling programme of activities and learning opportunities for the people that access this community space. Scottish Autism have to raise £20,000 per year to support= these activities, such as workshops and support groups.

In partnership with Ceteris and Inglewood House and Spa, Scottish Autism are hosting a Business Lunch on Friday 8 March to raise funds for Makers. This will be a great opportunity to network with fellow local businesses during Clackmannanshire Business Week while supporting a local charity. There will be a delicious three course lunch, prosecco, beer or a soft drink, along with a raffle which will include some amazing prizes. A table for ten people costs £245 or £29.95 per person (plus VAT).
