Ceteris Statement: Gean House

It is with deep regret that Ceteris announces that it will cease to operate Gean House as a Wedding and Conference Venue from the end of October 2018, when Gean House will have a new owner.

Margaret Mary Rafferty, Managing Director of Ceteris, owners of Gean House, said, “We have operated Gean House as a high quality, award-winning conference and wedding venue for over 20 years, always delivering excellent customer service. For a while Gean House was the only upmarket venue in Clackmannanshire and Ceteris felt that, although it didn’t fit with our primary purpose, it did bring benefits to the area.”

“Now there are a number of other good venues in the area and we feel that it is time to return to our core business.”

“We are desperately sorry at having to disappoint customers and, with this in mind, we negotiated a long lead in time to allow us to honour as many bookings as we could for this year. All of those customers have been contacted and made aware of the situation.”

“For those who have booked for next year, we have given them as much notice as we could in the hope that they would be able to find an alternative venue.“

Ceteris will now be able to expand the core services of providing commercial property and economic regeneration within Clackmannanshire, bringing additional economic benefits to the area.

We have already increased our property portfolio this year and are involved in local activities such as Developing the Young Workforce and the Career Ready mentoring programme for young people.

We look forward to welcoming our regular conferencing customers to our other Business Centre venues in Clackmannanshire and we hope that some of our residential conference business will be interested in using nearby venues, so that the business remains in Clackmannanshire.
